Midway Games (1996)
Cruis'n World
Cruis’n World is a 1996 arcade racing game developed by Midway Games and published by Nintendo, serving as the sequel to Cruis’n USA (1994). A Nintendo 64 port by Eurocom followed in 1998, receiving the best reviews among the Cruis’n ports.
The game lets players race on tracks across the globe, including locations like Hawaii, Japan, Egypt, and Moscow. It introduced stunts to the series, allowing players to perform wheelies for speed boosts or aerial flips to reduce their race time.
The Nintendo 64 version adds a bonus Moon track, unlocked after completing “Cruise the World” mode, and features a Championship mode with circuit-style races. Players can earn points to unlock car upgrades, adding depth to the racing experience.
