Linda A. Townsend, 65; Nutley Resident for 37 Years

•  Directed After-School Program at Franklin Church

 – Linda A. (Moore) Townsend, 65, of Nutley, on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Townsend resided in Centerport, Long Island, New York City and Jersey City before moving to Nutley 37 years ago.

Mrs. Townsend retired as the director of the Franklin Reformed Church After-School Program. She was a graduate of the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Education.

She was an active member of Vincent United Methodist Church and a former volunteer with the Hospice of New Jersey.

The daughter of the late Carol (Lueck) and Daniel Moore, she is survived by her husband, Richard P. Townsend; her daughter, Kim Townsend, and two brothers, Richard D. and David G. Moore.

Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday at the S.W. Brown and Son Funeral Home,, 267 Centre St., Nutley. The interment will follow at the Franklin Reformed Church Cemetery in Nutley.

Visiting on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
