Jul 28, 2012 – Frank Avignone, 86 of Nutley, on Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born in Cambridge, MA, he lived in Bloomfield before coming to Nutley 23 years ago.
Mr. Avignone was a designer/draftsman with Valcor Engineering in Springfield. A Navy World War II veteran, he was a member of Nutley Elk's Lodge 1290 and an avid golfer for many years at Hendricks Field in Belleville.
Mr. Avignone was predeceased by his wives, Helen (Maines) Connolly and Margaret Zarro), his son, Mark Avignone, and four older brothers, he is survived by three daughters, Lori A. Lohrmann, Ellen Driscoll and Linda Connolly-Schoner; six grandchildren, Jessica and Kelsey Lohrmann, Hallie MacDonald, Christopher, Matthew and Evan Schoner, and his sister, Lena Del Grosso.
Visiting at the S. W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, www.swbrownandson.com, 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral 9:30 a.m. Tuesday with a 10:30 a.m. mass at St. Mary's Church, 7 Msgr. Owens Place, Nutley. Committal at the East Ridgelawn Crematory Chapel.
