Jul 23, 2012 – Allen D. Alfano, 84, on July 21, 2012 at the University Hospital, Newark.
Mr. Alfano was born in Newark and has resided in Nutley for the past 56 years. He was a construction worker for Frederick's Construction in Belleville for over 25 years before retiring in 2005. Previously he was the owner of Alfano Siding in Nutley.
Mr. Alfano proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a Member of the Nutley Italian American Civic Association and the Nutley Amvets.
Mr. Alfano is survived by his wife of 62 years Marie (nee Dezarlo) Alfano ; his children Carol Ann Krempa and her husband David, Beverly Fiore and her husband Frank, and Allen J. Alfano and his girlfriend Barbara Melani; six grandchildren Karen, Michelle, Jennifer, Allen F., Paul and Marc, and three great-grandchildren Sophia, Jake and Makayla He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Kristen.
Visiting at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, www.biondifuneralhome.com, 540 Franklin Avenue,
on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral 8:45 a.m.Wednesday with a 10 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 12 Prospect Street, Nutley. Interment with naval military honors at the Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
