Gerald A. Morrone, 83

•  Korean War Veteran, Owned Confectionery Store

 – Gerald A. Morrone, 83, of Bloomfield, and formerly of Nutley, on Monday, July 16, 2012, at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Paterson. Born and raised in Belleville, he was a resident of Nutley before moving to Bloomfield eight years ago.

Mr. Morrone had been employed as a tool and die maker and was also the former owner of Our Place First Confectionery Store. He was an Army veteran serving as a corporal during the Korean War.

Predeceased by his wife, Lucy A. (Bredolo) Morrone, and his siblings, he is survived by his son, Kenneth J. Morrone and his wife, Angela; his daughter, Lisa Metz and her husband, Harold, and his grandchildren, Krystal, Jay, Kara and Kevin. He also leaves his brother, Raymond Morrone, and his sister, Joan Crimaldi.

Visiting at the S. W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, www.swbrownandson.com, 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral 8:30 a.m. Friday with a 9:30 a.m. funeral mass as St. Mary's Church, 7 Msgr. Owens Place, Nutley. Burial follows at the Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
