This buffalo has already been captured and has a 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 date at the Nutley Elks Club.
Jul 15, 2012 – Several local restaurants are joining with the Nutley Elks Lodge in a charity competition for the title of "Best Buffalo Wing" in town. The competition is set for 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at the Elks party room at 242 Chestnut Street.
"This will be the first annual 'War of the Wings' with all of the night's proceeds benefiting local charities," says Adam Jernick who heads the Nutley lodge as its Grand Exalted Ruler. The buffalo wings are being donated by local restaurants.
"The general idea is each person will have 10 minutes an all-you-can eat in the first annual War of the Wings battle," Jernick says. Participants will each receive a scorecard to vote for their favorite buffalo wing and the winner will be crowned by the Nutley Elks.
Master of ceremonies for the "1st Annual War of the Wings" will be Rob Frannicola of Ultimate Entertainment. Admission for admission is $10. A complete soda and beer package can be provided for an additional $10.
