 – Verona High School outplayed and outscored Nutley's lacrosse team yesterday scoring in all four periods and winning the match 10-5. Nutley gets another shot at improving its record when the Raiders travel to New Providence for a 4 p.m. contest.

Nutley's first two goal yesterday were hard fought. Verona scored first but Eric Fischer countered quickly to keep the teams even until late in the first period when the visitors scored again never to to fall behind for the rest of the match.

The Raiders can enjoy some solace as its two victories were both conference games where Nutley leads 2-0.

But yesterday was a disappointment. It took Verona only 45 seconds into the game before Chris Lapone put his team on the scoreboard and from there, his team never fell behind.

Nutley's first score came late in the first period by Eric Fisher. The other Nutley goals were cored by Trent Tedesco and Sal Gabriele.
