Nutley Man Charged With Abusing Girl, 17
• Could Face Up to 10 Years in Prison
Jan 5, 2012 – A Nutley man was charged this morning with sexually abusing a 17-year-old Nutley girl over the past four years. The abuse of the girl began five years ago according to the charges announced today the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and Nutley Police Chief John Holland.
The most recent incident, officials chare, occurred just before Christmas.
If convicted, the defendant faces 5 to 10 years in state prison. The defendant today posted bail that was set at $100,000.
"These are accusations," a press release issued by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office cautions. "All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law."
