• It's A Free Event May 8 at Yantacaw School Gymnasium
Apr 27, 2010 – The Yantacaw PTO is hosting its third annual Yantacaw Family Swap 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8.. Students, parents, teachers, and their families and friends as well as the general public are invited to drop off items they can no longer use on Friday, May 7, and take items they can use on May 8. The "swap" is absolutely free.
Popular items include DVDs, videos, CDs, video and computer games, books, puzzles, toys, games, sports
equipment, snow gear, shoes, jackets, baby gear, kids clothes, small household items, and more.
"Clean out your closets, garage, basement, toy box, and book shelves of unwanted items
that are still in very good condition, then come home with some new-to-you treasures,"s Laura
Fontanels, Yantacaw PTO President suggests.
"Our students are learning first-hand how to reduce, reuse, and recycle," notes Yantacaw Principal
David Sorensen. School recycling and events like the Yantacaw Family Swap provide children with a
hands-on opportunity to do the right thing and have fun at the same time. These experiences
help develop their sense of responsibility for our community and our world.
Items may be dropped off at the Yantacaw School gym on Friday, May 7, between 3:30 and 5
p.m. Please make sure that your items are in good condition and working order. Please, no
computer equipment, outdated software, manuals, or textbooks. If you have items you would like to
swap but cannot make it during the designated drop-off time or otherwise need assistance, please
contact the Swap organizers to arrange a pick-up.
The Swap will take place in the Yantacaw School gym on Saturday, May 8, between 9 and
11:30 a.m. The event and all items are free. Visitors must bring something to take something.
