Women's Initiative Now In Rehearsal For “The Safe House”
• Theatrical Production Planned Two Nights: March 18-19
Mar 16, 2010 – The Nutley Women's Initiative joins with the Nutley Little Theatre and the Franklin Reformed Church this Thursday and Friday (March 18-19) in a benefit theatrical performance for "The Safe House," a shelter for battered women in Belleville.
The production, "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and a Prayer: Writings to Stop Violence Against Women and Girls, involves women, men and children and is being directed by Linda Ribaudo of Bloomfield. A collection of monologues will be featured by notable authors and playwrights, edited by Mollie Doyle and Eve Ensler, author of "The Vagina Monologues."
Admission is $12.
The mission of the Women's Initiative of Nutley, formed in 2002, is to celebrate the successes of women through entertaining and educational programs.
"March is a time for celebration and is a wonderful month for women in Nutley," said Mayor Joanne Cocchiola. "It's a time to showcase the unique talents of our mothers, sisters, girlfriends and neighbors."
